Grants and loan programs
The University of Palestine offers many grants and loans that help students during the course of their university studies. The grants and loans are distributed to needy students. The grants and loans include the following:
First: Internal Grants and loan
High School Scholarships
- Students who have average of 95% or more get a full scholarship for the first semester in all disciplines except for dentistry (25%).
- Students who have average of 90% or more get a full scholarship for the first semester in all disciplines except for dentistry, but they get 50% of scholarship in pharmacy and engineering
Education Scholarship
- Full scholarship for students who get average of 90% or more.
- 50% scholarship for students who get average of 80% or more.
- 20% scholarship for students who get average of 70% to 80%.
- Students get the scholarship for one year then they get honor scholarship.
Honor Scholarship
- Full scholarship for students who get the top-rank in their colleges with average of 95% or more for each term.
- Half scholarship for second and the third ranked students who get average of 95% or more.
- Half scholarship for students in the top-rank in their colleges with average not less than 90%.
- 30% scholarship for students in the top-rank in their colleges with average not less than 85%.
- 25% scholarship for students in second or third rank, and who get average of 90% or more.
Holy Quran Reciting Scholarship
Holy Quran reciters get 25% scholarship every semester if they get average not less than70%.
Family/Siblings Scholarship
- Siblings who are studying at UP get 50% discount of the fees that can be distributed equally 25% for each.
- Three siblings get 100% discount of the fees can be distributed 33% for each.
- Every additional sibling gets 50% scholarship.
- Student wife or children treated as siblings.
- Family scholarship awarded to the student who get less fees if any of them is a student at Dentistry College.
- If siblings study at the dentistry college, each one gets 10% discount.
- To maintain scholarships, no one of the benefited members should have academic retaliation or disciplinary detention.
University employees Scholarship
- Employees’ children, siblings, or wives get 25% scholarship every semester if they get average not less than 70% .
Second: External Scholarships:
UP offers a range of external grants for students in the undergraduate program according to the terms of the sponsors. These external grants include the following:
- Full scholarship over the years of study offered by donor institutions and they are subject to specified conditions or the granting of students’ bails.
- An annual grant.
- Quarterly grants.
- Emergency financial assistance to cover a portion of the fees.
Third: The loan program:
1. The Ministry of Education and Higher Education loans
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education, funded by the Arab Fund for Economic Development, introduces loans for students enrolled in UP. These offered loans have no interests or commissions. The students pay off 16% of the loan during the period of the study and the remaining amount could be paid off after graduation or (six months after graduation) if not enrolled in work. The students can introduce their requests at the beginning of each semester to the Deanship of Students Affairs.
2. Loan Program (World Bank) through the Bank of Palestine
In coordination with the Deanship of Student Affairs, the bank offers a loan of 400 JD for students enrolled in UP. The student can get eight loans during his/her university studies in case of receiving a cumulative grade point average of at least 68%. New high school students can get loans of equal value in case of receiving 70% average. Students can pay 25% of the loan amount in six months and the remaining amount will be paid after graduation.
Fourth: jobs Opportunities
This program aims to provide job opportunities for students which help them to pay their education expenses, and build up their practical experience
