CE Program Educational Objectives

 

The Civil Engineering Program has defined its Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) that are centered on the mission of Faculty of Applied Engineering and Urban Planning for University of Palestine. 
The Civil Engineering Department has determined that the educational objectives for the program are as follows:

 
  1. Developing the skills of higher thinking and creative thinking, civil engineering problem solving and decision-making, and developing the leadership skills of the engineering student, with the development of its ability to use modern technology, especially the technology of communication, information and research in scientific and practical areas.
  2. Seek higher degrees in Civil Engineering and embark on life-long learning. 
  3. Building an integrated and balanced personality of the engineers in its various dimensions, in accordance with the ethical values system, with emphasis on the methodology of scientific thinking, initiative, sense of responsibility, value of work and public service, and promotion of belonging to his country and nation, to be productive and active in his society.
 

CE Student Outcomes

 

Graduates of the Civil Engineering program will have:

 
  • An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering.
  • An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data.
  • An ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability.
  • An ability to function on multidisciplinary teams.
  • An ability to identify, formulates, and solves engineering problems.
  • An understanding of professional and ethical responsibility.
  • An ability to communicate effectively.
  • The broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions. in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context.
  • A recognition of the need for, and an ability to engage in life-long learning.
  • A knowledge of contemporary issues.
  • An ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary.  for engineering practice.
